On 01 July 2008, the first
Running Order Show closed its gates with a convincing result in the Munich
Order Centre M,O,C. More than 1 300
trade visitors from 58 countries made use of
the opening of the European platform exclusively for the running domain in order to obtain information
about the latest trends in the booming running segment. Overall 98 exhibiting companies were very pleased with the course of the
event.
Through the concentration on a
single market segment and the positioning as a national order platform, the
concept of the Running Order Show was perceived as a success: Besides the
leading brands in the area of running won as exhibitors, trade visitors
presenting a high quality level were welcomed during the three days in the
M,O,C. Almost all leading German sports trading industry visited the opening of
the Running Order Show. Furthermore, Messe München GmbH as the event organizer
registered a high number of international trade visitors with a share in foreign
business of more than 52%. This underlines the
keen interest in such an order platform.
Messe München GmbH initiated
the first B2B platform focused on the running domain in cooperation with LEX
Group, Germany’s
association of leading running, walking and triathlon dealers, and the company
W.L. Gore. The exhibitors presented innovations and products from the segments
of shoes, wear, accessories, triathlon, Nordic Walking, nutrition, running
analysis methods, and enterprise resource planning.
The uniform system stands in
the middle of the atria 1 and 2 as well as the individual showrooms of their
own in the M,O,C, served as presentation space.
Overall, this concept was
positively received by exhibiting companies and visitors: Besides the
concentrated, however, relaxed working atmosphere of the trade fair, they
perceived above all the high quality standard of the customer talks as very
positive. Even though there may still be room for optimisation and development
perspectives, for example with a view to the preparation time.
Manfred Wutzlhofer,
Chairman and CEO of Messe München GmbH, remarks positively: “We are very
pleased with the results of this opening event. The objective of the running
industry is to provide for the best possible B2B platform, and this could be
met nationally with an almost complete range of exhibitor offers and a
high-quality circle of trade visitors.”
Hilmar Bolle,
New Balance:
“Our expectations were fully
met. The atmosphere and the quality of the customer contacts were very good. We
also very much appreciated the concept with focus on the running segment. In
our view, this focus could well be underlined in terms of marketing. A larger
number of participants of other M,O,C, showroom hirers is desirable.“
Christof Lübcke, Müller
Sports Medicine:
“This is a good concept, in
particular, with a view to the uniform system stands. We were pleased with the
good quality of the customer talks. Overall, we very much enjoyed the
atmosphere.”
Verena Johannsen, LEX Group:
“For Lex running experts it
was an excellent event. We were optimally integrated in the Running Order Show
and our premium partners were all present. Furthermore, we met other
interesting suppliers. The talks had a high level of quality.”
